In an exciting effort to celebrate the beauty of words and storytelling, JOF Library has announced its first-ever Poetry Night, set to take place next month. The event will bring together poets, spoken word artists, and literature enthusiasts for an evening of creativity, expression, and inspiration.
A Stage for Every Voice
The event is open to both experienced poets and newcomers who want to share their work in a welcoming and supportive environment. Attendees will get the chance to perform their own poetry, recite classic works, or simply enjoy the performances of others. “Poetry is a powerful tool for self-expression, and we want to give people a space to share their stories,” said Emeka Odu, the event coordinator.
More Than Just Performances
Beyond the performances, JOF Library’s Poetry Night will feature interactive sessions, including a writing workshop where participants can learn tips from seasoned poets. There will also be a Q&A panel discussing the impact of poetry on culture, education, and mental well-being.
