In a major step toward improving literacy rates and academic performance, JOF Library has launched a Free Tutoring Program aimed at helping students struggling with reading, comprehension, and critical thinking skills. This initiative is designed to bridge the literacy gap and ensure that every child, regardless of background, has access to quality learning support.
Addressing the Need for Extra Learning Support
Many students face difficulties in reading and comprehension due to lack of resources, overcrowded classrooms, or limited access to learning materials. Recognizing this challenge, JOF Library has created a structured program where trained volunteers and educators provide one-on-one and group tutoring sessions at no cost to the students.
“We’ve seen too many children fall behind simply because they don’t have the support they need,” said Chinedu Lawson, the program coordinator. “With this initiative, we’re ensuring that no student is left behind in their education.”
What the Program Offers
The tutoring sessions will focus on:
📖 Reading Comprehension – Helping students understand and analyze texts effectively.
📝 Writing & Expression – Teaching proper writing skills, grammar, and storytelling.
🔢 Basic Math Support – Strengthening foundational numeracy skills alongside literacy.
🎤 Confidence-Building Exercises – Encouraging students to read aloud and engage in discussions.
