JOF PROJECTS
Creating Lasting Change, One Community at a Time.
At JOF Projects, we are committed to building healthier, stronger, and more resilient communities across Lagos and beyond. Through strategic outreach, partnerships, and sustainable initiatives, our impact continues to touch lives, providing essential resources, healthcare, and hope to those who need it most. Our story is not just about numbers—it’s about real people, real progress, and real transformation.
Together, we’re making a difference that lasts.
Project I: The Visit Payed To The “Dan Et Sarrah” Orphanage
The visit to the “Petit Dan et Sarrah” orphanage was the first official outdoor project that the foundation carried out. We had been doing background work and planning for what our activities will look like in the previous year and decided that the first outreach would be a visit to an orphanage. We carried out inquiry and shortlisted a number of orphanages and after deliberations chose to visit this one. The project was carried out on March 16th 2022, in the Soa locality. The children in this orphanage as we had learned, had material needs such as food and clothing, and some of the older ones had difficulty in choosing an educational path after high school and also financial means to even further the said education.
The orphanage fell within our targeted audience as their needs reflected our goals and what we were willing to offer. We visited them with foodstuff, clothes, and household requirements. We also carried out our very first IT workshop with the children in a bid to sensitize them on the benefits and significance of information and technology in the present age. A number of children were shortlisted who were interested in furthering their education in IT after ample sensitization was done. These were mostly those who just completed and those who were soon to complete high school and had both the interest and basic skills in IT. We most importantly used this visit as an opportunity to spread God’s word of hope and life to encourage the children and their caretakers that God’s steadfast love is with them despite the numerous challenges they may face.

Project II: The Visit To The Zion Rehabilitation Center
On (date) we carried out the second outreach to the “Zion Rehabilitation Center”, an orphanage found in the Biyem Assi neighborhood in Yaounde. This orphanage which previously had its headquarters in the Northwest region had to displace its children from their home town at the outbreak of the hostilities in this region of the country in 2016 and suffer great loss of property. Some moved to Douala, while some of the children – those we visited, moved to Yaounde. The purpose of this project which aligned with our goals and vision as a foundation was to show love and care through the word of God to the children who were in need of basic necessities and were almost forgotten and had no one to assist them in their challenges.
We also used it as an opportunity to promote IT by giving the little children an entertaining and enriching workshop on IT and took note of the children that could take part in the JOF IT sponsorship program which is upcoming. We gave them a little bakery course as well which was both educative and entertaining. The children had a great time and were looking forward to receiving us more often. We stayed in contact with them and have been following them up and assisting them.
Be that person that delivers hope and inspire smiles
Project III: “JOF Back to School
This project which took place on September 10th at the Fegmimbang village in the Soa locality which as we learned had parents who did not invest in or consider the education of their children as necessary but rather introduced them to trade and farming at a tender age. Our purpose was to sensitize these parents on the necessity of educating their children especially in this era where juvenile delinquency is the talk of the day and thus promote education in this community. We used God’s word to encourage them and assure them that if they had the will God provide the means to send their kids to school. We aimed at making them understand that trade and farming activities will be much more beneficial if complimented with quality education and encouraged them to try their best to send their children to school. We thus supported the children in this village – about 200 of them, with stationery for school that year including books, pens, etc., school bags and other school equipment. The leader of this community who was very pleased to receive us appreciated our efforts and spoke kind words of blessings to us.
Project IV: “JOF Back to School 2023
This event held on the 9th of September 2023 in the AWAE community found in the Center Region of Cameroon, under the theme. This community was preselected among others for this project due to the reported challenges that the parents of children in the community faced especially with regards education. Our objective was to bring hope to these children and to their parents encouraging them of God’s steadfast presence even amidst their challenges. With the resources we were able to raise, we successfully provided basic school requirements for the children in that community. These ranged from stationaries such as books, pens and rulers, to school bags, school water bottles, to name only these.
Our target for this project, was 150 school children of both the English and French systems of education, ranging from Class 1 (Sil) up to Upper-sixth students (Terminal). Their parents were asked to register them on a list which we used to ease the work. By the grace of God, we were able to meet up with our target and even extended to some of the children who didn’t get registered but showed up on the day of the event.
Project V: “JOF Back to School 2024
This project which took place on August 17th 2024 in the Mbankolo neighborhood was an outreach program for the refugees and internally displaced persons in Yaounde. It came in handy in response to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2 and 4 on Zero Hunger and Quality Education respectively. It entailed firstly, providing foodstuff and basic household requirements for these communities, and secondly providing school needs to the children of these communities and assisting them with their tuition fee. Our targeted audience consisted of 100 children who would benefit from the back-to-school items and then 30 parents to benefit from the food stuff and household requirements. The children shortlisted beforehand from the both systems and all levels of education, received stationery and school bags to help them resume effectively by September that year. The foundation also offered a partial scholarship of 50% of the tuition fee of three children. The beneficiaries of this scholarship were chosen on the basis of a quiz which took place on the day of the event. This engagement was successfully met up by the foundation as we reimbursed 50% of the school fees to the beneficiaries upon receipts.
With the aim of fostering social welfare and promoting education, we were able to successfully reach out to about 200 people who turned up for the event. The support of all our benefactors and volunteers for the event cannot be overemphasized they were the visible hand of God that helped to make the event a success and change the lives of many who had little hope.
Poject VI: JOF’s Inter-Orphanage Bible Recitation Competition
The event took place on December 16th 2023 in Soa, Yaounde found in the center region. Having as theme “Fostering Spiritual Growth and building Self-confidence in Orphans through Bible Recitation”, it consisted of bringing orphans of different orphanages of the Center Region together in a friendly yet competitive environment. The children were required to recite a given number of bible verses within a determined period of time before a jury for cash prizes. The orphanage who succeeded to recite the most verses correctly emerged the winner. Of the four (4) orphanages that were initially targeted, three (3) prepared and showed up. They were; Zion Re-habilitation Center found in Biyem Assi, Petit Dan’ et Sarah located in Soa and the Agape Children’s Home found in the Ekounou neighborhood. The prizes were; 300.000frs for the first position, 150.000frs for the second and 75.000frs for the third position.
Our objectives for organizing this project were; heightening spiritual awareness and the understanding of biblical principles in the hearts of the participating orphans, stimulate self-confidence and communication skills through public speaking in these children, contribute to their social welfare through the cash prizes and in general spread God’s love through a fun filled and entertaining activity. We fully met these objectives with the grace of God and the support of all the benefactors and volunteers that helped to make the event great.
Project VII: JOF’s Prison Outreach
The project was carried out on the 30th of November 2024 under the theme “Breaking Prison Chains with God’s Word” and targeted the MFOU Prison in Yaounde. The aim of this visit was to take a message of God’s mercy, peace and steadfast love to the prisoners and encourage them to have faith in God’s will to free them from captivity of sin and the prison gates and also their own ability to make better decisions and become better people. We took along with us the word of God as food for the soul, and foodstuff to feed and strengthen their physical bodies. The event was successful and both the prisoners and prison warders were grateful to have received us.
